Latest oilpainting: Nedlloyd Dejima
The Nedlloyd Dejima from 1973 (2900 TEU) was in her time
the largest and fastest container vessel in her time. Original her power source
was a steamturbine but due to the oil shortage (1973-74) her engine room was
rebuild completely with 2 Sulzer engines, changing her max speed from 30 to 21
knots. She became operational with the new powersource in 1982. Her end of live
became in 1998, at the demolition yard of Alang in India.
